We encountered a part that needed to machine the arc surface, as shown in Figure 1. The surface of the circular arc surface is carburized and quenched, the hardness is ≥58HRC, and the surface roughness value is R_a0.8μm. The arc surface of the part is automatically adjusted and evenly loaded, so its processing quality has a great influence on the assembly quality of the whole machine. The key to machining the part is the grinding and polishing of the circular surface. However, our company does not have a special profile grinding machine. It can only be machined on a conventional surface grinder M7130. For this purpose, we have designed a set of grinding wheel fixtures, as shown in Figure 2.
