Tianjin Implements Energy Conservation Regulations on July 1

The reporter learned from the "Construction of Energy Conservation Regulations in Tianjin City" held on June 26 that the "Tianjin Construction Energy Conservation Regulations" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") will be formally implemented on July 1. The "Regulations" has improved the building energy conservation management system, standardized and improved the new building, green building energy-saving system, requiring all districts and counties to set up special funds for building energy-saving transformation applications.

The "Regulations" encourages the city's building energy-saving scientific research and technological development, promotes building energy-saving new technologies, new processes, new materials, and new equipment, promotes the application of renewable energy in buildings, and encourages rural villagers to use individual building energy-saving measures. If the city’s construction projects use renewable energy, the Municipal People's Government shall grant subsidies in accordance with relevant regulations of the State and this Municipality. The "Regulations" require that the city will carry out "full-process" supervision on the approval of building design schemes, the use of energy-saving building materials, and the evaluation of building energy efficiency for newly-built energy-saving buildings, green buildings, and existing building energy-saving renovations.
