There is no hard-and-fast rule for rescue work, but trained relief organizations usually follow the following five stages.
First, the first phase
Reconnaissance and rescue of wounded surface personnel
Check the scene. Rescue the injured. Collect as much information as possible about other residents in the building.
Second, second stage
Search and transfer lightly trapped wounded
Search and rescue help the wounded who are easy to rescue. In addition, trapped casualties who cannot be seen or heard but who cannot be transferred immediately remain in touch.
Note: The use of trained search and rescue dogs can significantly increase the likelihood of finding trapped and unconscious victims.
· Rescue dogs should not wear collars or ropes that prevent them from walking through the rubble.
• Always check the rescue dog's paws for injuries.
Third, third stage
Search for locations where survivors may exist .
Search for ruins and rescue all trapped people who can be seen or heard. This may include the process of calling and listening to a response.
Fourth, fourth stage
Deep search and selective removal of rubble
Further searches are less likely to exist in the rubble of surviving trapped people. If you search and find that you have more hope of being injured, you should remove the ruins of these places.
Fifth, fifth stage
Systematically remove debris
It is not until all possible wounded people are rescued that the selected ruined area can be cleared. This includes the removal of dead bodies and stumps. Use spray paint or identify buildings that have been searched. This method can also be used to identify buildings that may still have bodies.
