China Aluminum Corporation's Shanxi No. 2 Alumina Plant to improve wear-resistant containers to save spare parts

Recently, the second aluminum oxide plant of the Chinalco Shanxi Enterprises Minerals Plant has improved the bottom wear tube of the cyclone, reduced labor costs, and saved nearly 3,000 yuan in maintenance spare parts annually.

The bottom flow tube of the cyclone in the mine shop is originally designed to be curved. The cyclone with a height of more than 8 meters directly hits the elbow. Due to the large pressure and wear, the elbows often leak. A few years ago, the workshop changed the bent bottom tube wear case to square iron, adding a layer of wear-resistant box liner. The entire box was composed of two parts, the outer iron sheet and the inner liner, which solved the bottom flow tube. The elbows are easy to wear and change frequently, but they also increase the difficulty of construction. In replacing the inner liner with the wear box, the side box body must be cut open, and the wear-resistant flat tube connected with the wear box must also be dismantled, resulting in increased cutting and welding work time and long time, plus inspection, The cleaning operation takes more than 8 hours each time.

The workshop brought together all the technical backbones and brainstormed to form a practical and feasible set of renovation programs. The side of the wearable box was changed to a movable door and was fixed with screws. After the renovation, each time the inner liner was replaced and checked and the wear-resistant pipe was cleaned. When the door is opened and removed, the personnel can directly remove the wear-resistant lining plate to replace it, eliminating the need to cut and dismantle the pipes, which greatly reduces the workload of the employees and shortens the maintenance cleaning time.

After the implementation of this modification, the replacement of the wear plate at the bottom flow management of the cyclone of the second alumina plant can be completed in just over one hour, which saves six hours compared to the past, and greatly reduces maintenance and spare parts costs.
