Precautions for installing gas alarms on industrial sites

The installation of the detector must be carried out by professionals, and its installation position should also be determined by it. Although there are no fixed rules regarding the installation position of the detector, there are still some basic conditions that need to be met. The basic one is that there should be enough space around the detector for daily maintenance and troubleshooting. The following are some issues that should be considered when determining the installation location:
1. The toxic / flammable gas alarm controller should be installed in the fire monitoring duty room (non-explosion-proof area), and the location and height of the device should be easy to install and maintain.
2. The gas water heater installed in the gas station should be equipped with a reliable smoke exhaust system and flameout protection and other safety devices, and should be linked with the combustible gas alarm controller. If the leakage exceeds the standard, the gas source will be automatically cut off. When the enclosed building with explosion risk in the gas station adopts forced ventilation, the ventilation capacity of the device shall be calculated as 15 air changes per hour during the work period, and shall be linked with the combustible gas alarm controller.
3. A combustible gas alarm controller should be installed in the room of the pressure regulating station. The controller should be linked with the ventilation facilities, gas inlet valves and gas release valves, and should be monitored on duty.
4. Leak detection detectors should be installed in dangerous places such as pressure regulator rooms, compressor rooms, substation and distribution rooms, gas storage devices and gas filling islands in gas stations and joint construction stations. The combustible gas alarm controller should be linked with the power supply system of the gas station (except the fire pump).
5. Carefully study the construction drawings of the building and determine the approximate installation location of the detector. Observe where the gas may leak and collect.
6. The detector should be installed downwards, and never point the sensor upwards towards the sky or ceiling. Do not immerse the detector in water or other liquids.
7. Avoid placing the detector too close to the wall or ceiling. Because these surfaces will absorb some toxic gases, and when the temperature or humidity of the environment changes, these gases will evaporate from the wall, interfering with the normal operation of the detector and affecting the measured value of the detector. Install the detector at a distance of more than 15 cm from any surface.
