OK International has launched the new Metcal MX-5000 series of welding and rework systems. The Metcal Soldering and Rework System combines higher power, more advanced systems and unique energy and tip savings features to become a high-performance kit for a wide range of complex assembly challenges.
The Metcal MX-5000 Series Soldering and Rework System is a valuable resource to support today's electronic assembly operations and address the challenges associated with lead-free processes, multilayer boards, large ground planes, and high component packaging densities. The "Smart Heating?" patented technology combines with 80 watts of power to simultaneously respond to a variety of load conditions and provide superior levels of control. In practice, this unique design avoids system overshoot and reduces in seconds, providing high productivity soldering and rework processes.
The microprocessor-controlled MX-5000 Series also incorporates a built-in digital power meter that provides users with continuous feedback on a specific repeatable process to create high quality solder joints. The ease of use of this pioneering technology also greatly reduces the investment required for training.
The MX-5000 Series includes different system configurations for users to choose from to meet their specific application needs. The user should determine the specific configuration based on one or more systems that they will use. System options include: breakthrough Metcal AdvancedTM soldering and rework systems, the new Metcal UltraFineTM micro soldering application system, Metcal MX-PTZ surface mount equipment (SMD) rework precision boring system, and MX-DS1 through-hole de-soldering system. The new Metcal TipSaver? workbench is also added to the MX-5000 system with "auto sleep".
