The Fifth National Women and Children Work Conference was held in Beijing on the 27th. At the meeting, Wen Jiabao stressed that it is necessary to prevent and avoid all kinds of accidental injuries for children, and in particular, strengthen school security, fire safety, and school bus safety.

The State Council has instructed the relevant departments to quickly formulate school bus safety regulations, quickly improve school bus standards, do a good job in school bus design, production, renovation, and equipment, and establish a corresponding management system. The funds required for the school bus work are shared by the central and local governments and collected in multiple ways.

It is necessary to clarify the responsibilities of local governments and departments, and strictly enforce the accountability system. Serious incidents must be dealt with in accordance with the law. Through the concerted efforts of the central, local, and social circles, school buses should become safe and mobile school buildings for children, and safe and worry-free green channels for children should be established.
